On 5th July, a successful Menstrual Hygiene Literacy Camp was organized by Baijanti Sinha at 18/282, Kalyanpuri. The event aimed to educate young girls and women about the importance of menstrual hygiene and to distribute free sanitary pads, ensuring they have access to essential hygiene products.
Many menstruators encounter difficulties in obtaining adequate menstrual care resources due to socio-economic barriers, cultural stigmas, and insufficient education. Addressing this pressing issue, the Pinkishe Foundation stands as a catalyst for change.
The session began with an informative talk on menstrual health, addressing common misconceptions and emphasizing the importance of maintaining proper hygiene during menstruation.The camp saw the participation of 47 girls and 3 women, all eager to learn and benefit from the resources provided. A total of 50 hygiene kits, including sanitary pads were distributed to the attendees.
Overall, the camp was a great success, fostering awareness and providing much-needed support to the community. Organizer Baijanti Sinha expressed her gratitude to all the participants and volunteers who contributed to making this event impactful and meaningful.

This month, we highlight the inspiring journey of Shakuntala Devi, a mother of two from Mandawali, Delhi, whose life has been marked by struggle and resilience. With her children, aged 12 and 7, attending a local government school, Shakuntala Devi faced immense challenges in covering basic needs such as food, rent, and educational expenses. Her husband, a day labourer, spent his meager earnings on alcohol, leaving Shakuntala Devi solely responsible for her family's welfare.
This was organized by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) with the support of Pinkishe Foundation at Kanhaiya Nagar Slum on 1st September, 2024. The event, which hoped to provide knowledge on menstrual health and hygiene while creating awareness and access around feminine hygiene.
