Recognizing the importance of breaking stereotypes, the camp aimed to educate boys about menstruation, challenging traditional taboos and promoting a more inclusive understanding of Menstrual Hygiene and Feminine Care.

Objective

The decision to include boys in this initiative was based on the belief that early education about menstruation is important for everyone, regardless of gender. Traditionally, discussions around Menstrual Hygiene and Feminine Care have been predominantly targeted towards girls, leaving many boys without the understanding needed to foster empathy and support. This camp aimed to break this cycle of exclusion by offering Menstrual Health Education to boys, thereby challenging longstanding stereotypes and encouraging a more inclusive approach to Menstrual Health Education.

The event featured impactful workshop on Menstrual Health Education, where participants, were introduced to crucial topics such as Feminine Hygiene, Menstrual Hygiene Management, and the significance of Period Products. The sessions were designed to educate boys on the essentials of menstruation, breaking down common misconceptions and promoting a deeper understanding of Menstrual Health. By covering such topics  the workshop aimed to create a more informed and empathetic perspective among the boys.

Discussion and Queries: Addressing Boys' Questions on Menstrual Health

During the event, there was an engaging discussion segment where several questions from the boys were addressed. The boys actively participated, asking insightful questions about various aspects of menstruation, including the use of Sanitary Pads, Menstrual Hygiene Management  and the impact of menstruation on daily life.

Saasha Gajjaer provided clear and informative answers, ensuring that all queries were handled sensitively and comprehensively. This open dialogue not only clarified doubts but also reinforced the importance of understanding and supporting Menstrual Health.

Impact

By educating boys about Menstrual Hygiene Management, the event sought to demystify menstruation and address Period Poverty through a comprehensive understanding of Menstrual Products. The camp aimed to dismantle the taboos surrounding menstruation and promote Gender Equality, emphasizing that understanding and support should be universal.

Integrating boys into this important conversation, the camp sought to enhance Women’s Well-being and Health Advocacy, ultimately driving meaningful change and promoting a more empathetic and informed society.
