The session focused on busting societal myths about menstruation, which is otherwise viewed as a taboo subject in the Indian scenario. The organisers stressed the need for menstrual health education to fight misperceptions and taboo around the periods. Other key points discussed were about how a menstruating person's body goes through changes in her menstrual cycle, tips to handle periods with grace and maintain good feminine hygiene. The session led to open conversations and motivated people to share how they feel making an informative space for discussion on menstrual Health and Hygiene.
A central part of the event was that women and girls presented there receive free sanitary pads. This initiative has been made to end period poverty and to provide access to basic menstrual products. Organizing women oriented hygiene events further reiterated Pinkishe Foundation's mission to create an impact.
It was an information session for the beneficiaries, hoping to create a long lasting effect in the slum.
