On July 26, 2024, Government Inter College Narayangar Kushumkhera Haldwani, Nainital, Uttrakhand, hosted a crucial Menstrual Health & Hygiene Education Camp, organized by Upasana Tulera. This impactful event, designed for 30 girls, combined educational efforts with the distribution of free sanitary pads to address menstrual health and hygiene needs effectively.
The camp provided comprehensive menstrual health education, emphasizing the importance of proper menstrual hygiene and health management. Participants learned about the menstrual cycle, effective use of menstrual products, and the benefits of maintaining good feminine hygiene. This educational component aimed to empower the girls with the knowledge needed to manage their menstrual health confidently and effectively.
In addition to educational sessions, the camp included the distribution of free sanitary pads. This initiative was a key aspect of addressing period poverty and ensuring that all participants had access to essential menstrual hygiene products. By providing these sanitary pads, the camp aimed to alleviate some of the barriers faced by girls in managing their menstrual health.
Organized by Upasana Tulera, the camp demonstrated a significant commitment to improving menstrual health education and supporting women’s health in the community. A total of 27 beneficiaries, aged 12-13 years, participated in this impactful session.
