Event Highlights

The enthusiasm of the girls was palpable as they participated in the workshop, eagerly asking questions about various aspects of menstruation. A significant topic of discussion revolved around dietary restrictions during periods, particularly regarding the consumption of lemons. The relief on their faces when they learned that lemons are perfectly safe to eat during menstruation was truly heartwarming, illustrating how access to accurate information can ease anxiety and promote healthier choices.
One particularly memorable interaction involved a Class 7 girl who had yet to start her period. She shared her worries about possibly never menstruating and mentioned having spoken to her friends about it. Garima reassured her that it’s entirely normal for periods to start as late as age 16, which visibly lifted her spirits. This moment not only alleviated her concerns but also helped her feel more confident in her body and less isolated from her peers. It exemplified the profound impact of menstrual education on a young girl’s self-esteem and emotional well-being.

Fostering Community Understanding

This workshop played a crucial role in promoting awareness around menstrual hygiene and encouraging open discussions about menstruation. By addressing common myths and providing reliable information, Pinkishe Foundation is contributing to a culture of understanding and support for young girls. The feedback from participants highlighted the positive change in their perspectives on menstruation, paving the way for healthier attitudes in their community.
