We believe that educating young girls about menstruation is crucial at this age, as they are often filled with curiosity and face various misconceptions. Many girls struggle to resolve their queries and lack a trusted source for accurate information. Providing accurate information and support helps resolve their doubts and equips them with the knowledge they need during this crucial period of their development.

In-Depth Menstrual Health Education

The camp featured  session dedicated to Menstrual Health Education, where participants were informed about various aspects of menstruation. The girls learned about Menstrual Hygiene Management, including the  processes of their menstrual cycle and the significance of maintaining hygiene during this time. They received detailed instructions on the proper use of Sanitary Pads, including how to select the right type, change them regularly, and dispose of them properly.

Additionally, the menstrual education component also covered the role of various Menstrual Hygiene Products, such as Tampons and Menstrual Cups, and how to use them effectively. Emphasis was placed on how proper menstrual hygiene contributes to overall Women’s Well-being, incorporating advice on diet, exercise, and managing menstrual discomfort. The workshops also addressed common misconceptions and myths about menstruation, providing accurate information and encouraging open discussion to ensure the girls felt informed and supported. Through these comprehensive session, the camp aimed to equip the girls with essential knowledge and practical skills for managing their menstrual health confidently.

Queries and Personal Impact

During the camp, various queries were raised by the participants, reflecting their curiosity and the gaps in their understanding of menstruation. One notable instance involved a 13-year-old girl who initially hesitated to ask a question about menstruation. She was unsure whether to speak up and sought advice from a friend, who discouraged her from asking. Observing her discomfort, Saasha Gajjaer gently encouraged her to share her question. The girl timidly asked why pregnant women do not have periods. She  answered her question highlighting the physiological changes during pregnancy that stop menstruation.

This moment showed how important it is to create a supportive environment where young girls can freely talk about mensuration. It highlighted the camp's success in encouraging open discussions  and providing essential knowledge.

Community Impact

Saasha Gajjaer’s initiative had a profound effect on Social Welfare and Community Outreach. Through the distribution of Sanitary Pads and active Health Advocacy, the camp addressed Period Poverty. Sanitary Pads were distributed to ensure that all girls had access to essential menstrual product, which is crucial for maintaining proper hygiene and comfort during menstruation. This effort highlighted the vital importance of Girls Menstrual  Health Education  in empowering young girls and improving their overall well-being.

The event sought to drive lasting change by cultivating a more knowledgeable and supportive community regarding menstrual health.
