In a significant step towards enhancing menstrual health education and support, Upasana organized a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Literacy Session and Free Pad Donation on August 14, 2024. Held at Government Inter College in Narayangar Kushumkhera, Haldwani, this event aimed to provide essential information and resources to 35 young girls.
The session was designed to deliver comprehensive education on menstrual health and hygiene. It included crucial information about menstrual care practices, hygiene management, and strategies for maintaining well-being during menstruation. The interactive format encouraged active participation and ensured that each participant gained valuable insights.
The girls displayed remarkable enthusiasm throughout the session, actively seeking to understand menstrual health in greater depth. They asked insightful questions about the biological processes of menstruation, proper hygiene practices, and how menstrual health affects overall well-being.
Upasana addressed each query with clear, detailed explanations, covering the physiological changes during menstruation, correct use of sanitary products, and strategies for managing menstrual symptoms. This comprehensive approach not only clarified their immediate concerns but also created a supportive environment that empowered the girls with knowledge and confidence about their menstrual health.
At the end of the session, each participant received a menstrual hygiene kit containing sanitary pads. This distribution aimed to not only provide immediate support but also to enhance the girls' preparedness and confidence in managing their menstrual health.
The event was met with great enthusiasm and gratitude from the participants, highlighting the crucial role of such initiatives in advancing menstrual health awareness. Upasana’s dedication to enhancing menstrual health education was clearly demonstrated through the event's success. This initiative significantly contributed to creating a well-informed and supportive community for young girls, reflecting Upasana’s ongoing commitment to empowering them with essential knowledge and resources.
