Creating a Safe Space for Open Dialogue on Menstrual Health

One of the primary goals of this initiative was to foster an environment where women and girls could freely discuss menstruation—an often stigmatized and sensitive topic. The session led by experienced educators focused on not only providing accurate information about menstrual cycles, hygiene practices, and health concerns but also on encouraging participants to share their experiences and ask questions. This open dialogue allowed for greater engagement, helping to break the silence surrounding menstrual health issues.

Interactive Learning: Busting Myths and Educating on Hygiene

Through an interactive and engaging approach, the attendees learned how to manage their menstrual cycles more safely and effectively. Many participants came from underprivileged backgrounds where access to correct information about menstrual hygiene is limited. The session addressed common myths, providing the participants with scientific, fact-based knowledge about menstruation, hygiene products, and how they can care for themselves during their periods. Girlup Disha and Pinkishe Foundation made sure that the session was inclusive and understandable for everyone, ensuring that all attendees could take away useful, practical knowledge.

Free Sanitary Pad Distribution: Supporting the Community's Needs

Following the educational session, Girlup Disha and Pinkishe Foundation took another crucial step towards supporting the menstrual hygiene needs of the attendees by distributing free sanitary pads. This distribution was vital in ensuring that the women and girls, many of whom lack access to sanitary products due to financial constraints, could put into practice the hygiene tips they had learned during the session. Providing these essential products also helped reinforce the importance of safe menstrual practices, ensuring the participants left with both knowledge and resources.
