The focus of the session was to improve the girls' understanding of menstrual health, including the biological aspects of menstruation and effective management strategies for menstrual discomfort. The interactive discussions covered a range of topics, including menstrual cycle management, cultural taboos, and environmental concerns related to sanitary products. Many participants expressed their concerns about the environmental impact of plastic pads and showed a keen interest in sustainable alternatives like cloth pads and tampons.
In addition to educational discussions, the event featured the distribution of free feminine hygiene products such as cloth pads and tampons. Many girls come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds where purchasing menstrual products can be a financial strain. This initiative aimed to provide them with safe, eco-friendly, and affordable menstrual products.
This event went beyond just providing information; it empowered young girls with knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health confidently. Upasana's initiative in combining education with practical support made a significant impact, helping to reduce stigma and promote open discussions about menstruation. The positive feedback from participants underscores the value of such events in fostering a supportive and informed community.

This was organized by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) with the support of Pinkishe Foundation at Kanhaiya Nagar Slum on 1st September, 2024. The event, which hoped to provide knowledge on menstrual health and hygiene while creating awareness and access around feminine hygiene.
