In a collaborative effort, we hosted a significant event on July 25, 2024, in the Khyber Pass Civil Lines area of North Delhi, focusing on menstrual health and hygiene.

We felt it was essential to promote menstrual education in this area, where access to information and resources can be limited. Many residents face challenges with period poverty and stigma surrounding menstruation, making it crucial to provide education and support. By addressing these needs, the event aimed to empower local girls with the knowledge and resources they need to manage their menstrual health effectively.

Community Impact

The camp, held in collaboration with the Leo Club, welcomed 40 girls for a day dedicated to crucial menstrual health education. The initiative aimed to address the challenges of period poverty and promote menstrual hygiene management, an essential aspect of women’s health and well-being. By providing free sanitary pads, the event sought to tackle issues of menstrual product accessibility and support women's empowerment.

Objective & Impact

The main goal was to raise health awareness about menstrual hygiene and feminine care. The workshop included sessions on understanding the menstrual cycle and proper hygiene. It aimed to clear up myths and reduce the stigma around menstruation. The event gave practical advice on managing menstrual health and created a supportive space where girls felt comfortable asking questions and discussing their concerns. Various queries were addressed, ensuring that everyone left with a better understanding of their menstrual health. The workshop featured detailed sessions that addressed common myths and helped to reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation. It was designed to offer practical advice on how to handle menstrual health effectively.

This approach provided immediate answers while also equipping the girls with valuable knowledge and confidence for managing their menstrual health in the future. The event significantly improved understanding and reduced the stigma around menstruation, contributing to the overall well-being and empowerment of the participants.

Collaborative Effort

This effort was part of broader health programs aimed at improving community health and supporting girls’ menstrual education. By joining forces with the Leo Club, the event showcased the power of community outreach and social welfare in advancing menstrual hygiene management awareness. The distribution of menstrual hygiene products and the emphasis on health advocacy highlighted the commitment to addressing menstrual health issues.
