Breaking Barriers and Building Awareness: Menstrual Health Education in New Alipore

On 29th December 2024, Pinkishe Foundation conducted an impactful Menstrual Health and Hygiene Education session in New Alipore, Kolkata, West Bengal, by a dedicated volunteer Swapna Dutta Ghosh. The session aimed to provide essential information, guidance, and sanitary products to women and girls in the community.

Raising Awareness on Menstrual Health

The session’s primary objective was to educate the residents of New Alipore Rail Basti about menstrual health, breaking down the social stigma surrounding menstruation. By engaging with the local community, Pinkishe Foundation aimed to enhance understanding and create a more open conversation around menstrual hygiene.

Free Sanitary Pad Distribution for Better Hygiene

As part of the initiative, Pinkishe Foundation also distributed free sanitary pads to the women and girls in New Alipore. This essential step helped address the lack of affordable sanitary products in the area, ensuring the women had access to safe, hygienic products to manage their menstrual health with dignity.
