A Collaborative Effort for Better Menstrual Health

On January 4, 2025, Pragathi Welfare Society, in partnership with Pinkishe Foundation, organized a Menstrual Health & Hygiene Education Camp at the Pragathi Rural Development Centre, Burgula. This impactful initiative aimed to educate women and young girls about menstrual health while ensuring access to essential hygiene products.

Raising Awareness Through Knowledge Sharing

The camp provided a platform for open discussions on menstrual health, creating an environment where attendees could learn and share without judgment. Participants gained valuable insights into maintaining menstrual hygiene, understanding their bodies, and adopting safe practices to promote overall well-being.

Practical Tips for Menstrual Care

The event emphasized actionable steps for managing menstrual health effectively. The sessions included guidance on hygiene practices, proper product usage, and strategies to prevent infections, equipping the community with practical knowledge for healthier menstrual cycles.

Distributing Free Sanitary Pads to Support Hygiene

As part of the initiative, free sanitary pads were distributed to attendees, ensuring immediate access to safe and hygienic menstrual care products. This gesture helped address the lack of resources many women and girls face in rural areas.

Transforming Perspectives on Menstrual Health

The education camp aimed to break the silence and stigma around menstruation, encouraging families to engage in supportive conversations. By addressing misconceptions and promoting awareness, the event laid the groundwork for long-term cultural change.

A Step Towards Healthier Communities

The success of the camp reflects the importance of collaboration in improving menstrual health awareness in underserved communities. Pragathi Welfare Society and Pinkishe Foundation’s joint efforts represent a commitment to creating healthier, more informed rural areas.

By reaching out to Burgula’s women and girls, this initiative reinforced the importance of education and accessibility in addressing menstrual health challenges.
