This episode featured BK Sister Ekta from ORC Brahm Kumaris, Gurgaon, and host Anupama Ghosh, Associate Director of Pinkishe Foundation. This month, we highlight the inspiring journey of Shakuntala Devi, a mother of two from Mandawali, Delhi, whose life has been marked by struggle and resilience. With her children, aged 12 and 7, attending a local government school, Shakuntala Devi faced immense challenges in covering basic needs such as food, rent, and educational expenses. Her husband, a day labourer, spent his meager earnings on alcohol, leaving Shakuntala Devi solely responsible for her family's welfare.
This was organized by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) with the support of Pinkishe Foundation at Kanhaiya Nagar Slum on 1st September, 2024. The event, which hoped to provide knowledge on menstrual health and hygiene while creating awareness and access around feminine hygiene.
