Celebrate a birthday by donating

A birthday is a day to count our blessings. More and more people mark it by giving. Some donate on their own birthday. Some ask friends to donate instead of buying presents. Some parents donate on a child's birthday, so the day means a little more.

One birthday, one year for a girl

A birthday begins a new year of your life.

₹1,100 covers one girl's menstrual protection, education and support for a year. The support is our menstrual helpline, free and confidential, which answers at any hour on 85888 70999.

Since 2017, we have given over 77 lakh free sanitary pads to girls and women across India (as of 30 September 2026).

Ideas for a birthday

  • Donate on your birthday. ₹1,100 for one girl's year, ₹2,200 for two girls, or any amount you choose.
  • Ask for donations instead of presents. Share our donation page with friends and family, with a line from you.
  • Start a monthly donation from your birthday. Choose "monthly" on the donation page.
  • Pool it at work. Colleagues often collect for a birthday. Donate the collection in the birthday person's name.
  • For your daughter's birthday. If she is growing up, read The Period Fairy with her, our free comic about the first period, in 29 languages.

A birthday fundraiser, the simple way

We do not offer personal fundraising pages. You can still collect for a birthday in four steps:

  1. Give it a name, for example "Meera's 40th".
  2. Share our donation page link with friends and family.
  3. Ask each of them to forward their donation receipt to info@pinkishe.org, with the birthday name.
  4. We add up the donations people tell us about and send you the total.

We keep these names only for this, and we never publish them.

Donating from India and from abroad

  • In India: please use our India donation page. Your donation is eligible for tax deduction under Section 133 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (earlier Section 80G). Add your PAN when you pay if you intend to claim the deduction.
  • Indian citizen living abroad (NRI)? Please give on our India page, from your own savings. The tax deduction helps only if you pay tax in India.
  • Foreign passport or OCI card? Please use our international page. $25 covers two girls' menstrual protection, education and support for a year. A donation from abroad carries no Indian tax benefit.
