On the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, a Menstrual Health & Hygiene Education Camp was recently held at Udhampur Village in Jammu and Kashmir. The camp, led by Kamaldeep Kaur and supported by 22 cadets from the NCC Wing of Government College for Women, Udhampur, aimed to educate women and girls about menstrual health and hygiene, reaching 60 participants from the local community.

During the session, the cadets explained the menstrual cycle and emphasized the importance of maintaining proper hygiene to prevent health issues. They provided detailed instructions on the correct use and disposal of sanitary pads, highlighting the benefits of using clean and safe menstrual products. The camp also addressed common taboos and misconceptions about menstruation. The cadets encouraged open discussions, allowing participants to share their thoughts and experiences.

The girls attending the session listened attentively and were given chocolates by the cadets, which brought wide smiles to their faces. The Menstrual Health & Hygiene Education Camp at Udhampur Village was a crucial initiative in empowering the women and girls of Jammu and Kashmir with the knowledge and resources they need for effective menstrual health management.
