A community organisation in Shakurpur, Delhi, works with children and families from low-income households through education and community programmes. It is now opening a playschool and childcare centre in its building.
It wrote to us in October asking for a sanitary pad vending machine on its premises, so that adolescent girls and women from the households around it can get a pad when they need one. It also asked for a first stock of pads, a way to refill the machine, and menstrual health sessions for the community.
The photo shows a vending machine from our earlier work in a school. Photos from this centre will follow once the machine is installed.
