Pinkishe Foundation was recognised by the Indian Army in Jammu & Kashmir for its efforts towards advancing menstrual health and hygiene among girls in Kupwara district.

As part of its menstrual health initiatives in the region, Pinkishe Foundation installed four sanitary pad vending machines and conducted nine menstrual health and hygiene awareness sessions across madrasas and government schools in Kupwara. These initiatives focused on improving access to menstrual hygiene resources while creating awareness and encouraging informed conversations around menstruation.

In recognition of these efforts, the Pinkishe Foundation team was presented with the National Flag and medals by Major General Rakesh Nair, General Officer Commanding, 28 Infantry Division.

Working in communities where access to menstrual health information and resources can be limited remains an important part of Pinkishe Foundation’s efforts. The initiatives in Kupwara brought together menstrual health education and access to essential hygiene resources to support girls in managing menstruation with greater awareness and dignity.
