Pinkishe Foundation is proud to announce a transformative milestone in our journey: the launch of Project Period Pantry in partnership with UC San Diego's Project Rishi. This collaborative initiative aims to enhance menstrual hygiene for young girls in government schools in Vemavaram, Andhra Pradesh.
With a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Project Period Pantry establishes period pantries within girls' washrooms, ensuring that every student has access to essential menstrual care products. Each pantry is equipped with sanitary pads and informational pamphlets, providing vital resources that empower young girls to manage their menstrual health confidently.
The initiative launched with an initial stock of 500 sanitary pads, reflecting our commitment to supporting young girls’ menstrual health. Pinkishe Foundation has pledged to continually supply additional sanitary products as needed, ensuring that the period pantries remain adequately stocked and effective in their mission.
This project is not only about providing sanitary products; it’s a vital step in fostering a supportive and informed community. By breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation, Project Period Pantry aims to create an environment where young girls feel empowered and educated about their menstrual health.
The launch of Project Period Pantry is a significant milestone for Pinkishe Foundation, underscoring the power of strategic partnerships. Collaborating with UC San Diego amplifies our efforts to promote menstrual health awareness and improve the lives of girls in underserved communities.
We are excited to embark on this journey together and invite everyone to support our mission. Together, we can pave the way for a future where menstrual health is a recognized right for all.
